“Manchester’s Traffic on a Warm Summer’s night”
Bill Howe comes along regularly to the Chorlton Good Neighbours gardening group held each Friday morning in the garden we have created at the back of St Ninian’s church. This Friday Bill read to us a recent poem he had written called “Manchester’s Traffic on a Warm Summer’s night”. Bill lives next to a noisy Princess Road. The noise is usually shut off by keeping the windows closed, but in the recent warm nights he had to keep the windows open. On one such night the noise kept him awake and he wrote this poem
