Chorlton Good Neighbours is a part of the wider communities of Chorlton and Whalley Range. Over the years we have built many valuable and trusted relationships with local schools, churches, health, housing and social care providers as well as other community groups. Members take part in a variety of community activities including:

  • Intergenerational activities
  • Promoting what we do
  • Maintaining links with other community groups and agencies
  • Building local knowledge – police talks etc – volunteer connections
  • Giving talks about the work of CGN eg to University students taking a Youth and Community Work degree course.
  • Visits to sheltered housing schemes to promote Good Neighbours
  • Helen has given talks about Good Neighbours on Radio 4’s Women’s Hour last December (see http://goo.gl/xVGZ8) and in Jan 2014 was interviewed on Radio 5 Live
  • A Good Neighbours Radio Programme was made for Chorlton FM and was broadcast during the Chorlton Arts Festival in May 2012. There were interviews with the Good Neighbours Coordinator, Helen Hibberd,  with wheelchair support worker, Amanda and with several volunteers .   • Visits to Brookburn Primary school included a Christmas Party and a visit to share their wartime experiences and a stall at their Christmas Fair
