Stories of our Lives Book launch

This took place in the back room of Chorlton Library on Saturday 14th December. Older CGN members and writers who took part in the summer sessions, were able to come together again to celebrate the much awaited launch of the book .

Jolene Sheehan , the main facilitator of the sessions, together with local artist Peter Topping , spoke about how the book came to fruition after months of hard work , proof reading, editing, selecting appropriate images and working closely with the older people who naturally wanted an accurate reflection of their personal stories. A few memories / stories were read out on the afternoon as well as further insights and comments from the writers.

The books are on sale through Chorlton Good Neighbours  ( £5 per copy) as well as information about the forthcoming monthly storytelling sessions ( last Saturday in the month ) Please get in touch if you would like to come along as someone who might share their stories and memories or even as a writer ( no experience necessary). Our topics will be music and dance, early friendships and food and drink. The sessions are incredibly up lifting and we would love to have you involved .
