CGN History Talk: “Angel Meadow” by Elizabeth Sibberling, Thurs 7th July, 1.30pm
The next CGN history talk will be on on Thursday 7th July at 1.30pm on Zoom.
Elizabeth Sibbering , A Manchester Tour guide, will be talking to us about Angel Meadow (an area close to the Cathedral, Victoria Station and the new Co-op office building), “the most dangerous and vilest slum of the industrial times in Manchester”. The poorest people kept company with thieves,gangs and prostitutes amongst the gin dens and lodging houses and it was described as ‘Hell on earth’
