Steve, a volunteer at CGN, gave a presentation and demonstration of Alexa, a virtual assistant technology at the Chorlton Good Neighbours coffee morning on 20th April 2023, . Alexa can respond to natural speech commands, to play music, make shopping lists, setting alarms, strea podcasts, playaudiobooks, and providing weather, traffic and other real-time information, such as news. Alexa can also control several smart devices using itself as a home automation system. Steve demonstrated how Alexa works and described how it helped him look after his mother, at a distance using this smart technology
