History talk on Tues 4th July about suffragist Lydia Becker

The next in-person History talk at Chorlton Good Neighbours is on Tuesday 4th July at 1.30pm

Joanne Williams will talk about Lydia Becker , the acknowledged , though unofficial leader of the suffragette movement in the late 19th century. This feisty and single minded woman ensured a thousand women could  vote in the general election of 1868, due to a legal loophole .
