Helen’s November 2024 Newsletter

Dear Good Neighbour

I hope you are keeping well. We have had a busy couple of months, including a lovely trip to Oswaldtwistle Mill, the drama group performing their ‘Murder at St Ninians’ play at two other community groups, the Art class entering an exhibit around the theme of PLAY at a venue in Old Trafford, and the Melodics singing group having fun with a drumming session with a guest musician.  Remember if you fancy trying something new, just give us a call and we can see if we can arrange for you to come and observe a session first, if that would help.

Christmas Closing at Chorlton Good Neighbours

There will be no activities running after the final Friday exercise class on 20th December. We restart all activities again from Monday 6th January 2025.  We have our big party, of course, at Hough end Police Club on Thursday 19th December and I am attaching a letter about that. It will book up quickly so if you want to come, please get in touch sooner rather than later.

Would you like to receive email notifications about events and activities happening in the area and across the city?

I send out regular email shots which include all sorts of information, including where to get support in the current cost of living crisis, giving your opinions on what’s taking place locally with the precinct development or various research projects. Recently I sent an email out asking for volunteers to come up to Chorlton High School South with me for a coffee and reading session with the students and it was great to see different CGN members respond to that email.  Of course, you can ask for your name to be brought off that list any time you like.

Finally, thank you to everyone who has sent in a donation recently, we really appreciate them, no matter how big or small it all helps. We have been fortunate too that CGN has been left a couple of legacies by long standing members who have since died, and it feels wonderful to know that the work of the charity and the volunteers is acknowledged in that way.

Thank you as always for your support at the activities, looking forward to seeing you soon.

    All good wishes
