Here is a short video on how in March 1933, six British engineers working for Manchester firm Metropolitan-Vickers in the Soviet Union were arrested and found guiilty of espionage, sabotage and wrecking activities against Soviet electrical installation.
Two remained in jail whilst the others were expelled. Depite the UK government’s denials, it was later revealed that they were all spies working for British Intelligence
