A group of CGN members were invited to go to the penthouse suite on the 47th floor of Beetham Tower, Manchester’s tallest building. On 20th February 9 budding photographers made the trip into town and up to the top of the Beetham Tower. Luckily it was a bright day, with no wind or rain which gave us excellent 360 degree views of the City.
Several of the members belong to the Thursday Art Group so they were busy drawing and sketching their impressions of the view.
The purpose of the visit was to take lots of photos which can be sold to raise money for Homestart South, which supports families with a child under 5years.
Afterwards we treated ourselves to tea and cake at a local Greek taverna. The homeward journey saw us climb loads of steps at Deansgate Castlefield Metro station and the person least out of breath was Maude aged 90 years.
