CGN offers regular training sessions for its volunteers and staff, and recognises the importance and benefits to investing time, money and energy into its workforce. After all they are the ones giving front line support to local older residents on a very regular basis.
February 14th ( Valentine’s day!) saw 25 volunteers and staff come together for a morning session , revisiting the elements of good practice and the importance of boundaries in volunteering.
Our trainer Debra McCallion led the session and offered everyone the chance to talk through what was working well, what some of the challenges are, why we need to be professional in our volunteering and how we can support new volunteers and older people to join the organisation. A great turn out ….thanks to all our volunteers and staff for the amazing contribution they make!
