It has been a very busy summer of activities for CGN particularly for those related to cultural events. Through these we support older people in contributing and engaging in neighbourhood and city life. The first event was the CGN drama group taking part in the Festival of Manchester in Platt Fields on Saturday 31st August. Despite frequent rain showers the Group had a great time performing their production of ‘Staying Alive for Barry Gibb’.
Our colleagues at Together Dementia Support kindly lent us their minibus which was a great help in getting everyone to Platt Fields on time and having that space to build up camaraderie prior to performing. The festival of Manchester is a great opportunity for community groups to showcase what they can do and everyone said how much they gained from taking part.
