Coffee Morning Activities – visitors, paintings and actors

Thursday coffee mornings continue to be a really enjoyable weekly event for us all, as well as provide an opportunity for a range of visitors to come and join us. In October we had student nurses come to find out about what a community group does.

Dawn Harris , the local Health Development Co Ordinator brought 3 nursing students with her and they chatted to people on the various tables finding out what difference the organisation makes to them and how CGN works in partnership with other local colleagues.

Other visitors included Peter Gibson and his acting  colleagues who performed an Alan Bennett sketch and one based on Steptoe and Son. We also had some volunteering support from the granddaughter of one of our trustees who was more than happy to get stuck in with the washing up,  and we celebrated plenty of birthdays.

‘Thank yous’ were passed on  to people who were no longer going to be able to help out,  ( Keith Walsh) and of course we delighted at the continued efforts of our members on the ‘painting tables’ who are producing marvellous creations under the teaching of local artist Susan Parry.
