As well as the usual visits from our Hear to Help colleagues and nurse Eileen , CGN has also welcomed plenty of other local colleagues and visitors to Thursday coffee mornings. This is so valuable as our older residents and volunteers have a chance to gain information about what else is going on locally or hear info which might be of practical benefit.
A couple of examples the past two months have been the visits from Tom Burgess from Care & Repair who came during Big Energy week, offering everyone the chance to have their energy bills looked at , to check people were on the best tariff for them. Ann McPartlin also came to tell people about a weekly afternoon get together at HOME cafe , next door to Emmanuel Church, in Didsbury, if people fancied getting along to their Sunday afternoon session.
Other Thursdays saw Arthur raising funds through a popular tombola, and Oswald rd school children coming along to sing and have a chat afterwards with everyone in the Hall. Alexandra Park learning centre also came with their children to sing some Spanish songs and sing happy birthday to a couple of older residents.
