Another favour to ask : Next Thursday 1st October is International Older Person’s Day and CGN is wanting to celebrate this by taking photos , or receiving photos from people who are taking part in any activity or event that day ; anything that highlights the energy , creativity, positivity and resilience of older people. If you are able to find an A4 sheet / big envelope and write in large letters something like :
I am celebrating ( or enjoying ) International Older Persons day by …… ( and a couple of words with any comment you like ) then maybe I can get a zoom photo of people holding their boards up to the screen .?
Eg:
I am celebrating ….by learning something new at the History Talk
I am celebrating by joining Zoom for the first time
I am enjoying Older Persons Day by meeting friends outside for coffee
Or it could be that you decide to just write a phrase on your paper eg Interested and interesting ….. never too old to learn ….Helpful not helpless…
I am sure there will be plenty of reasons to celebrate so please have a go and then I can get a great photo which will be put on the CGN website , the Age friendly Whalley Range and Chorlton Website as well as be forwarded to the Council’s Age Friendly Dept.
Please don’t worry if you can’t manage to do this and don’t let that stop you joining us for the talk …only write something if you feel able to and want to .
Take care
Helen Hibberd
