Thurs Feb 3rd,  History talk at 1.30pm, Chris Hall – Madge Addy ‘the nurse who became a spy

Dear All

Here is the link for next Thursday’s Feb 3rd  History talk at 1.30pm  by Chris Hall on Madge Addy ‘the nurse who became a spy’ who lived on Manchester Rd opposite Chorlton Library. This lady was a nurse in the Spanish civil war and a special agent in occupied France in WW2, so lots to learn about this lady !
Marguerite Nuttall Lightfoot, better known as Madge Addy, left behind her husband and ‘normal’ working class life in Manchester to support the Republican cause in Spain in the late 1930s. Pictured Madge (right) in a party outfit as a trainee nurse at Hope Hospital in 1923
