Marjorie Holmes

Marjorie Holmes lived in Chorlton, Manchester all her life. I interviewed her in April 2011 three years before she died. Here she talks about her being brought up in Higson Road, her memories of the milkman’s horse that always knew which house to stop at. She also talks about her war years in the RAF, servicing Dakota transport planes and and seeing German prisoner’s of war working on fields next to Wilbraham Road. Finally, she still remained angry that the old St Clement’s church was left neglected and then demolished after the war
