Enid Wood was involved in Chorlton Good Neighbours from its inception over 25 years ago. Here are some of her memories (originally recorded in 2011) of being a volunteer for CGN and of the people she helped. There is a memorial service next week for Enid at St Ninians Church
Warren – CGN Volunteer
Warren talks about how he became a volunteer, what he does and why he enjoys it. Warren has such a warm and welcoming personality that he lights up and brightens the coffee mornings for us all
Jim – CGN volunteer
Jim had some time available as he was finishing his Phd so he volunteered at CGN. He drives regularly drive two ladies to the coffee morning, which he really enjoys. He has also made some good friendships with the other younger volunteers
Trish – Chorlton Good Neighbours volunteer
Trish has been volunteering at CGN since she retired about 7 years ago. As well as being a volunteers driver, taking people to hospital appointments and the like, she also visits and befriends older women who may be unable to get out and about. Nurse Eileen come to our Thursday coffee morning every other week. She advises our members who have have a medical problem . She will give advice and where necessary contact their GP. We think she does a fantastic job
